Acne and teenagers
It is common knowledge that 85% of the people who suffer from acne are teenagers.
I must address the parents out there, it is essential that we understand the psychological implications of acne on our kids, during evolution there were some social rules installed in us telling us what outer beauty means and it just so happens that one of the variables was clean smooth skin.
Now kids at this certain age period are constantly trying to be accepted by their peers, also they are starting to be aware of these outer characteristics they think they should have in order for them to be accepted, here begins the problem, now believe me, kids at this age can be very cruel to what they don’t understand and it is important that we, the parents, help our kids deal with what they are feeling when they get laughed at or any other childish behavior.
We should always try and give our kids positive reinforcements about the way they look every day because THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL and THEY ARE AMAZING kids even if they can’t see that when they look in the mirror.
I suffered from acne through most of my teenage years (although there are some methods of treatment today that can really help eliminate acne in a short period of time) and I hope that whoever reads this post benefits from it whether it’s someone who has acne and now feels more confident and strong or if it’s someone who has a friend suffering from acne and now can go talk to him about it with much more understanding of what he is going through.
I’ll be writing more posts giving you information about acne in the near future but for any further questions feel free to email me at:
